Packed Full of Fun…

Whether you realize it or not the entertainment you choose for your event can make or break the night! Some emcees sound uncomfortable or shy when they address the crowd making it hard to hear or understand leaving the guests confused or lost. Some sound forced and over the top making a “voice” thinking its what they are “supposed to do” and are just out right corny or cheesy, quoting tired line after line. Others won’t stop talking and completely steal the lime light from the guests of honor and do not let the guests enjoy each others company or they create an atmosphere where conversation is difficult and therefore less people create bonds or form meaningful and lasting conversations.

Then there is us, stylish, polished, natural and easygoing. We facilitate the flow, direct the guests so no one is lost about what is going on or what is coming next and we address each event accordingly. There is a time to be upbeat, inject light humor or speak formally, it really depends on who’s and what type of event it is. That’s why we cover all these points far before the actual event date in the planning phase.

You really have to choose wisely, there are many vendors out there just looking to pump out the numbers and take as many events as possible so they get bookings and send untrained, unprofessional rookies to “practice” on peoples actual events. Luckily we have done much of the choosing for you, we have selected only an elite and select number of DJ/Emcees who will amaze each and every time they go out on an event. We do not have “tiers” of entertainers who go from bad to worse, we are all on a level playing filed and have equal abilities when it comes to DJing. 

When it comes time for the real fun to begin, well that’s when we truly shine! No one can rock a packed dance floor like Premiere Events Group. That’s our specialty, reading the dance floor, mixing it up, playing the right songs for the right crowds. There is no need for us to resort to useless banter to try and get a dance floor going, we simply play the best music and what happens next is natural fun! People will just gravitate towards the dance floor because that’s where the real party is. The guests will be rushing to the dance floor to dance to the best hits of today, yesterday and even the mashed eras remixes. That is where we shine, that is our space, that is our comfort zone! Seamless, non stop music blends that incorporate a wide variety of tastes and of course all the requested music you can handle that is unless the crowd isn’t felling it, well then its time to transition out smoothly to the next big hit! 

We are the real mix DJ company, we do not have the game show host copy cats, we do not have the prop clown antics! We simply play the best music at the perfect moment and the rest is organic fun! People love us because we are understated and deliver fun each and every time.

Coronado Waterfront Wedding

Coronado Island is a small island right next to downtown San Diego. Its charming and gorgeous, its a bit removed from the OC & LA area but we think it was worth the drive. Obviously there are numerous hotels and venue sites which can accommodate weddings but this wedding was actually held at the City of Coronado Community Center which admittedly at first sounded like it was going to be not such a great place, on paper anyhow. Let us explain, first off what do you typically imagine when you hear Community Center; sports, loud children, old furnishings, smelly carpet, and the list goes on. Well to our surprise this community center was none of those. Lets start with the location, ITS ON THE WATER! That’s right you have gorgeous views of the bays and sailboats from just about every angle in the place. The building itself is contemporary, well maintained, and uses great finishes and even has great lighting control which allows you to completely set the perfect mood with the use of ambient decor lighting (up-lights – not provided by venue). They even have a matt finish all black dance floor, no ugly scuffed parquet dance floor, this gives the room a nice contemporary feel. They also have a lovely courtyard to host a cocktail hour with water views as well

Don’t get too excited just yet because there are a few minor cons to these wonderful pros. For the drawbacks; you have to bring everything in, and we mean EVERYTHING! With the exception of tables and chairs (which unless covered completely in linens we would not recommend) the venue doesn’t provide much else. They do have a kitchen but they do not have any staff for the kitchen, so be sure to pick a catering company who can also provide a great, helpful and friendly staff. You will need your own bartenders and alcohol. You will also be required to hire security, and they are strict on time and schedules. We arrived early for set up and had to wait outside for 30 minutes before we were allowed access to the venue, even though there was nothing going on prior to us coming in. Since there is no staff you have to rely on either an event planner to hire the details or DIY and contact every vendor individually and set all the details up personally.

Its a great venue if you have an event planner though. If you do not have an event planner we would recommend you have plenty of spare time and patience and get referrals from the vendors you have already hired. We had to fill in a few roles that fell outside our normal scope of work for this event due to the lack of staff to ensure everyone knew what was going on and knew what to do and where to go upon arrival. We didn’t mind doing it but if we weren’t there and hadn’t taken the initiative to play the role of welcoming host, the guests would have been confused and clueless as to what was going on, how to find their seat etc. On that note you need to be sure to have enough people to properly run an event here smoothly and without a hitch.

So our recommendation: This venue is great with the right staff. If you are not in the market for an event planner and are not great at DIY and don’t want to deal with hiring and securing every vendor for your wedding than this probably isn’t the best venue for you. But if you have an event planner this venue may be able to save you money on the venue fees and provide you with absolute flexibility on who you have for catering etc.

Laguna Beach Wedding Class

Well another weekend gone and this weekend was wonderful! The weather was outstanding and the events were fantastic. The private party held in Shady Canyon was great, the crowd packed the gorgeous white dance floor and the music selection was a blend of modern chic Downtempo Electronica, Lo-Fi and Chilled Acoustic Remixes for the mingling portion. Then the crowd was all about dance music they wanted mainly 80′s and upbeat hots of today and boy were they lively group!

The wedding at Seven Degrees in Laguna Beach was classy, modern and fabulous thanks to Uyen Nguyen of Sassy Girl Weddings she is one of our absolute favorites to work events with. The place looked amazing and the crowd was one of the best crowds in recent memory. They were so lively and energetic and at the start of open dancing packed the dance floor and they stayed ’til the last song! It was a very important event for us because it was a wedding for an amazing talent and industry colleague, photographer Jason Q Tran. We could not be happier that we were given the opportunity to serve as the DJ/Emcee for such a great wedding and such a cool Bride and Groom. It was finally Jason’s turn to be on the other side of the lens, he and his new beautiful wife looked amazing and so good together.
